There are actually two versions of this-one regular, one barrel aged. It’s their first anniversary beer. I’m going to be lazy and review both here instead of creating a new entry.
Having regular first. Standard stout appearance. Dark, minimal thinning on the edges, not a big head on out and very slight lasting lacing. Smell is sweet-brown sugar, molasses, chocolate and malt. Taste is a meld of bitter and sweet. Unsweetened chocolate mixed with sweet vanilla and molasses and malt. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Medium body, slightly thick and oily, definite boozy presence. Pretty good.

Barrel aged version pours dark, creamy head and lacing, not too long lasting. Smell is subtle notes of barrel and dark roasty malt. Slight coffee and chocolate presence. Taste is two things: bourbon and sweetness. Dark malt, sweet chocolate, and roasty coffee. Medium bodied, a very slight oily finish, boozy. Better than the base beer.

Keeping the rating at the higher one because the barrel aged is a damn tasty beer.

Had on tap. Black and slight gray in the body with sepia foam with lacing on the glass. Smell is bourbon laced lactose, baker's chocolate, vanilla, oak and smoke. Taste is hits you up front with smoky coffee, licorice, and vanilla with the lactose, then bourbon booze and wood hits hard to finish. Chewy and smooth, pretty cool too, but deepens as it warms, but booze is a little jagged.
