My grandfather was a small business man but his hobby was painting. His specialty was landscapes. He painted fields of bluebonnets, rivers and trees, houses and bridges. One my family's most valued, and you could say it is his masterpiece, is a pastoral Irish countryside with a beautiful thatched roof cottage. It is this thatched roof that I envision when I dream about driving through the Irish countryside with sheep and cows lazily munching on the emerald green grass. My Irish Red ale is call to that space. It is simple, malty, and delicious.

Clear copper amber body with an off-white head, light lacing. Classic aromas from the amber and caramel malts. Taste is an exploration of what the malts in this style can do, get some tootsie roll and earthy accents as it warms. Feel is a little watery and thin, but malty the whole way. Not bad, one of the crew for St. Patrick's was really digging this one much more than I for what it is worth

This was a decent Irish red ale. It had a good sweet caramel flavor but the flavor dissipated rather quickly. It was a little bit thin but not too bad for a 4.5% beer.
