Tasted on tap at the brewery in Waco, TX.
Dark mahogany and ruby beer with nice clarity and a hint of foam around the edges. Flavors reflect the aging, leaning into raisins and fig newtons with a friendly hint of oxidation. The flavors match, but go deeper with additional elements like oak, fresh tobacco and Oloroso sherry. The body is thin but silky and satisfying, with an off-dry finish.
This is a beautiful beer. It won't suit everybody, but those who enjoy this style will love it.
