this was the best and most professionally made beer we had in here, i think the style favors some of their house flavors if that makes sense, and the relative absence of good american craft beers in this style make me almost always thirsty for it, so i have a favorable bias here, but i thought this was awesome. caramel colored and rich looking in the glass with a nice white head on it, light and lasting. it smells like a maris otter or english crystal malt base, sturdy for how light it is in alcohol, and also not sweet, thats the success here. light english hops, out of the way but bitter enough to balance, and just light sweetness at the end. a burton type ale yeast, totally unstressed, and well carbonated. this is a simple beer, but a session type with an absolute ton of flavor and grain character. beers like this dont exist anymore, and i am thankful for it. this was easily my favorite of the several we had, and probably the one that would make me most excited to go back. good english crusher, very well made.
