one of the few breweries we hit in spain that we had some prior knowledge of, some bottles started showing up in idaho and montana last year and i have been loving the ones ive been lucky enough to have. it was sick to get to check this place out for real, meat some of the folks involved, and drink a whole mess of their beers! a little tricky to find, sort of felt on the outskirts of the city, but maybe just because it was a bit of a mission from where we were staying and also really difficult to park anywhere close by, but its a modest space without loud signage or anything, just a garage sort of entrance on a little side street, some folks sitting outside drinking and chatting is the only way we knew we had arrived. inside its a cases of beer, a few scattered tables, a long bar with a paper beer list hanging, and obviously the production in the back, a bunch of keg shells visible back behind the restrooms. no real decor, sort of an industrial space, totally all about the beer (and wine, they make natural wine here too, need to try some!). they had a nice selection of drafts but also a full bottle menu, although many were out. we loved the bottle of the plum one we got, tart saison delicately fruited, insanely good, but also dug a tart orange beer on tap, the biere de garde, and the beets which we got to drink right off the tank when the brewer was kind enough to show us around the brewery in the back. insanely humble operation, seems almost shocking their beer made it all the way over to the western unites states, real limited production capacity, cobbled together gear, but a lot of passion and knowledge happening here, and their beers are some of the best in spain, if not the world, ive loved almost all of them. really nice folks here from brewer to bar staff and we were treated great here. things seemed super affordable too for the high quality, and there is an almost undiscovered nature about this place, like it has the potential to blow up but really hasnt yet, not sure why, the beer is awesome. only a matter of time im sure. i love this type of saison, not necessarily wild or bretty, not necessarily sour, but definitely not clean and generic, its rustic and well handled, and the bottle conditioning on their packages stuff is expert. cant wait to see where they go from here, really an incredible and unheralded brewery! so sick to visit!
