Our series of fruited American Sour Ales come from a love of fresh fruit flavors combined with mouth-watering acidity. We take the same golden sour base beer and referment it with different fruit combinations.

16 oz can from 4 pack, dated 2/8/21, into Southern Grist Blue Logo snifter.
The color of Welches Grape Juice to be sure, no head really, just a pink thing that fizzles out within literal seconds. Light passes thru.
Aroma is signature Edmund's Oast lactic character (similar to their Order of Magnitude), followed by slight grape jelly or grape powder mix.
Flavor is sour first, fruit second. Lots of lactic character and puckering right away, and underneath that you get a little bit of grape juice and a light finish of grape candy/sucker.
Feel is light, semi-crisp, leaves a starchy coating on the palate, with minimal alcohol. Moderate carbonation.
Overall, it skews on the side of boring, but it's not a bad beer. It has plenty of flavor and is not artificial at all. It's like a sour grape cocktail. I think 87 overall is a bit harsh, it deserves at least a 90, IMO. It's not going to make anyone ecstatic, not even grape sour fans, but trust me there have been many worse grape sours and no local brewery in SD has done it correctly so this fills a gap. A fair purchase not a great one.

A: The beer is dark purplish red when viewed from afar; when held up the light it is rather hazy red in color. It poured a quarter finger light pink head that quickly died down, leaving some wisps of bubbles on the surface, some lacing down the sides of the glass, and a narrow collar around the edge.
S: Light aromas of sour, wild grapes are present in the nose.
T: The taste has moderately strong flavors of Concord grape juice with only a slight bit of sourness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There seems to be a bit of smoothness and the beer coats your mouth a little.
O: This beer is hardly sour at all but has nice flavors of Concord grape juice without having any artificial-like flavors of gimmicky sweetness.
