this is impossibly underrated here, i dont get any reason for the low scores here, i thought this was incredible! its a joint effort from a number of breweries in the area, a strong rye pale ale made with local black rye, something im not sure ive seen in beer before. its also brewed with local honey, and its boldly flavorful, frothy, hoppy as heck, and creamy drinkable and delicious. the honey jumps out at me right away, floral and fresh, blossoming and sweet, waxy, and raw and unrefined, almost gritty the way natural honey can be in the package, a beautiful counterbalance to the fairly intense earthy rye malt, which doesnt have the classic spice thing happening but rather a dry and rich soil vibe, high minerals and bready in its taste. the hops are great with both, leafy green and fresh is nice with the honey, and bitter and hearty is nice with the rye. some citrus and pine both in the finish, very balanced with the honey too. its all so fresh and flavorful and distinctive, yet also something i just cant set down. i wonder how others have not been equally moved by this. the frothy expansive soapy feel is awesome, and the flavors linger long. exceptional beer and a very cool project to get so many breweries together for a single brew! dont miss this while its around!
