16 oz can from South Carolina ($3.29).
Appearance. Pale, pnkish-golden body with a good white head.
Despite an aroma that's neither harmonious nor otherwise particularly appealing, tasting reveals a well crafted, balanced brew. The quality and strength of the strawberry and subtle vanilla additions seem spot on. Strawberry notes are obvious and natural while allowing a rather bold blonde base to shine.
Medium-light body with perfect, lively but soft carbonation.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, orangey-gold body with a medium-sized, whitish head.
Smell: Mainly the strawberry flavoring with a twinge of vanilla sugar, but you can tell there is still some beer in there somewhere.
Taste: Lightly bready pale malts alongside a big sip of sugar-sweetened whipped cream dosed with vanilla and ample strawberry flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It does what it say it does on the can - blonde ale, lactose, strawberry, vanilla. Just the one can for me, thanks, but at least it wasn't gross.

A very pleasant whiff of strawberry vanilla is prominent once opening the can. It's truly a thick blonde ale well rounded with a strawberry flavor profile not too far off from actual strawberry shortcake. The strawberry is there, the thick blonde ale type grain base character is there to give it breadiness, and its all mellowed out with the vanilla sweetness with a thick lively carbonation. It's better than I thought it was going to be.
