16 oz can from SC.
Appearance. Typical copper colored body, if lower in clarity, with a tall, off-white head.
The aroma is quite complex while too much vanilla is found in the flavor. The vanilla, along with honey, adds to the perceived level of sweetness which is high.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Canned on date of 8/25/21. This 10% is just fine after 6 months.
The beer pours a relatively clear copper color with a little bit of sediment entering the glass at the end of my pour. Several VERY fine streams of carbonation rise to the surface of the beer feeding the foam on top. This foam is a little frothy and fluffy and is a light khaki color. Leaves windowpane lattice as it fades a little, but it never completely disappears during the tasting.
The aroma is some caramel and a little pear and lighter fruit with some floral honey notes mixed in. I dont really get any of the vanilla promised on the label. I do also get a little biscuity malt in the background, and not really too much of a hop note.
First sip reveals a medium bodied beer with soft texture and fine gentle, almost non-existent carbonation. Amazingly soft feel across my palate, honestly almost doesnt feel like a liquid at some points.
Flavor is sweeter up front with light fruit of pear and some honey again, also a bit of vanilla here. This moves to a little citrus note and some light booziness, more booze flavor and no heat. Finish is again some citrus, but sweet orange, not peel, floral honey and a little black peppery bite. There is pretty good complexity in this beer and I enjoy the mix of flavors. The mouthfeel is excellent on this one, I would very gladly drink another can of this barleywine.
Well done beer!
