16 oz can, canned on 9/16/21
Wide mouthed glass
Thick orange paste, with a creamy finger of egg foam yellow head. Weird.
Aroma of orange juice, cream, orange sherbet/julius, and slight citrus peel. Very soft.
Flavor is soft to start and develops a firm yet harsh stony bitterness towards the middle, and then the softness rejoins at the end. Orange yogurt, dead grass, grapefruit peel, sherbet, earth, and pine are all fine descriptors. Bitterness extends beyond the finish and sets up camp in the form of pinewater on the aftertaste.
Feel is too resinous for its style, but is still somewhat soft. Has a hard minerality to it though, not a fan of that. Alcohol is present but I suppose permissible.
Overall, this one wasn't spoiled like the other (even fresher) Edmund's Oast beers I brought back on my journey. That's fortunate. What's unfortunate is that this is not really my style. Lots and lots of earthy mud and dirty bitterness here. It has a lot of east coast and west coast and bizarre sherbet shit mixing together that, while still drinkable, is far from what I'd consider enjoyable.
