16 oz can

Appearance. Copper colored body with a short, off-white head that lasts longer than expected.

Aroma. A spiced holiday bread is brought to mind, suggesting that this is not another over spiced 'holiday' beer.

Flavor. This has a nice mix of spices used in moderation such that the bready base brew and the chocolate shine as well. The spicing level is near but below the low bar above which spices dominate the aftertaste. It has negligible sweetness and mild bitterness.

The light body seems too thin but the ABV is well hidden.

Picked up a 16 oz can as part of a mixed sixer from the Energy Mart cooler on Long Shoals Road on 1-25-25 for $3.29. Canned 10-29-24; consumed 3-7-25. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured brown with not much head that dissipated quickly.

Nose is nice, dominated by chocolate with some vanilla and cinnamon mixed in.

Taste is nicely done as the lighter black malts that are mildly toasted works well as a host for all the adjuncts. Chocolate is the predominant flavor, and the vanilla and cinnamon touches are light and compliments. Nutmeg comes in on the backend and works with the hopping to balance things out.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and not over smooth or viscous.

Overall, an interesting beer. Got to hand it to EOBC for their innovation and willingness to explore a lot of styles.

A very chocolate and coffee forward beer. Definitely prefer this during a colder time of year. For a nightcap, I think a bit higher abv would suit it. This beer is very good though, I quite enjoy it. It could be a bit thicker but overall a really high quality drink I urge you to check out next time it's cold out.
