Picked up a growler while in town, and the beer is a crystal-clear, bright, caramel-bronze coloring with no head. Aromas of rich and tangy sweetness, with a blend of caramel, apple, berries, roasted notes, subtle booze, old-world fruit sweetness of date and fig, oaky notes, and brandy. Interesting blend on the nose; very robust and inviting. Flavors are very tangy sweet and boozy forward, with a solid dose of apple and brandy characteristics, date, fig, raisin, some woody highlights, light spices of nutmeg and cinnamon, citrus tones, and roasted characteristics. Very bold and heavy on the palate. The body is smooth, slick, and robust, and the beer has a richly sweet and slightly roasted aftertaste, with a steady warmth building as you drink. The finish is smooth and slick, with a subtle richly sweet linger. This is a big one, with good flavor profiles throughout.
