Very dark caramel pour into standard pint glass. No head. Produces nice light lace.
Deep, malty, earthy nose typical for the style. Chocolate and caramel malts back that up.
Chocolate and dark peat combine for a great tasting beer. Very smooth. Slight vanilla tint in the finish. Alcohol sneaks out at the end, too.
Great tasting beer and good representation for the style.

Appearance: clear dark amber in color with a thin head that lingers a bit. Some spotty lace develops during the session.
Smell: caramel sweetness is soft but easy to detect.
Taste: caramel, ripe black plums, and some mild bitterness creates a simple but flavorful beer.
Mouthfeel: crisp throughout. Medium bodied beer. Flavors leave the mouth quickly.
Drinkability: pure session ale that can be enjoyed all evening long. Nice offering.
