On draught at the brewery. Served in a plastic cup due to COVID restrictions. It pours an attractive ruby-orange with a creamy, ecru colored head and thick, creamy lacing. The smell is caramel-forward with distinct spicy, acidic citrus esters. The taste opens distinctly bitter but it is quickly balanced by caramel sweetness and nutty, earthy char. It's mild but very flavorful. Its mouth feel is creamy with a pleasant level of carbonation and it drinks easily for 7% ABV. Overall, I enjoyed Axehead a lot. It has lots of flavor, is well-balanced, and is highly drinkable. I'd order it again if available.
