12oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured a cloudt dull orange color with just a thin cap of white head that had low retention and lace.

The aroma had a low malt base, topped with musty hops. On the tongue, the hops were a bit brighter, and left a tingle of bitterness at the back.

The body was fairly typical, perhaps a touch on the light side of medium, and had a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was fine, but I'm in no hurry for another one. Overall, a very average-ish example of the style. Try it or don't.

This is a big and aromatic IPA with hops listed as Centennial, Comet, and Idaho 7. Pours a clear bright yellow with a modest foam in the stout glass. Rich with malt, almost like a DIPA. Moderately sweet but the herbal and piney hops need the balance. Fairly acidic but again the weight of the malt helps.

I would venture to say this is the textbook example of the West Coast IPA we used to tire of, the big unrelenting hops and massive bitterness, but there is an interesting complexity. Some grapefruit peel but also passionfruit and a hint of something like capers and cucumber.

This is quite bitter by the time the aftertaste clamps its jaws on your tongue. But at least it's a clean and clear brew and makes me want to try more from Twin Sisters. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
