Pours a dark but clear brown with plenty of off-white foam in the snifter. Creamy mouthfeel. Light grainy aroma. Hops, I don't taste, but there may be an herbal note. Slight burnt flavor along with the roasted malt, but less pronouned than a Schwartzbier. Modest twang of bitterness and a buttery hint in the aftertaste. Quite pleasant for a quaff, and quite flavorful for the lower-ABV sort of brew. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 11/29/21.

16oz can (dated 1/22/21) poured into 14oz teku. poured a light black color with over an inch of tan head that had good retention and light lacing.
Light roast at the front of the nose, with some grain behind that. No real hop presence.
The roast was stronger on the tongue, bordering on coffee. Again, low grain and no hop.
The body was light and smooth, with a medium finish.
Drinkability was good, but the heavy roast was a bit of a chore for me.
Overall, a solid enough brew, worth trying if you see it.
