While the subtitle on this one is "Hazy IPA," it is absolutely not hazy in the glass. While it does have the orange peel taste of some of the New Englanders, it seems further from that style than some kind of hop-loaded American IPA. Sue me if I'm wrong.
The color is clear golden amber with abundant foam in the tall Timmermans goblet. Mouthfeel is thoroughly sudsy with a strong prickle on the tongue. Flavor is all citrus peel. Rather acidic and juicy tasting. While it has a lot of hoppy, fruity aroma, it's not so much fun to drink.
Hops are listed as Mosaic and Chinook (or course). The name comes from the Southern Resident killer whale group known as J pod, and the brew is a fundraiser for Skagit Fisheries Enhancement. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
