A: Inky black pour from can, dark walnut head of two inches with an aggressive pour is spongy textured atop and pitted with a soft pillow appearance. Huge patches of spongey lace sticks well to vessel.

S: Sweet caramel and black cherries, fresh sugary coffee and creamer. Sweet dark fruity nature, perhaps plums.

T: Lots of roasted cocoa on opening sip. Dark sweetened coffee with a pronounced sweetness of plums, and some black cherries. The coffee roastiness is smooth and superb, with a hearty fullness. There is a peak of black licorice, dark roasted chocolate malts that coat the tongue upon the swallow.

M: Thick and viscose mouthful, with an oily feel. Light carbonation, smooth creamy texture.

O: Dark roasted coffee stout treat with a sweetness to balance of creamer and dark fruit. From its initial appearance, its initial sip to its weight body and mouthful, this was a delight to sip and savory.

Pours deep dark brown, zero light penetrates other than outer edges; light brown head with above average retention; in the form of a nice thick cap, good lacing.

Nose is roast, light perceived smoke; hops present but nondescript to me, if forced to I’d say some light earthy quality; bakers chocolate, some licorice.

Taste leans into the roast and char; licorice again, some woodiness, dark chocolate, ends with a nice espresso like bite.

Mouthfeel is medium; but on the lighter side; low smooth carbonation; prominent bitterness, touch of warmth as it goes down.

Pitch black. Khaki head with great lacing. Smells of dark cocoa, milk chocolate. Coffee grounds. Mild alcohol fusel. Tastes of 90% dark chocolate bar. Milk chocolate black coffee. The acidity is high but not too high. Full bodied. Not thick not cloying. 8% ABV is perfect for this.
