Picked up a four pack of pint cans.
Pours a golden copper in color with a finger thick white head atop that quickly dissipates to a thin layer of lacing on top that also coats the glass as you drink, eventually sliding down to meet the beer. A bit hazy after the full pour with some particulates in the bottom of the can. Carbonation looks lower than average with some smaller bubbles popping up as you swish the beer around. I like that. Typical look for the style.
Interesting. A lot of honey and cereal maltiness on the nose with a fruity, citrusy hoppiness to balance it out. I am intrigued.
Taste follows the nose well. This is very balanced up front, but decidedly hop-forward, especially in the finish. Honey and cereal malts hit first along with some vanilla. The hops come in towards the middle with plum, lemon, grapefruit and a bit of pine. The finish is a mix of honey and grapefruit rind with a lingering bitterness on the tongue.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation that has a bit of zest on the swallow. This has a solid amount of chewiness and is very drinkable, although it feels a bit heavier than it's ABV. A bit of a palate wrecker, especially for a pale ale.
Never heard of this brewing company, picked this up on a whim. This is good stuff! Hop-forward, but nicely balanced. Very flavorful for its ABV. I would happily drink this again. Cheers!
