Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a medium to dark reddish coppery amber with a fine, two finger light khaki head with great retention. Aroma of caramel malt, apples, dates and a hint of nuts and hops. Flavor is caramel malt with a touch of biscuit, apple peels, raisins, citron and spicy and moderate grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. An excellent red ale, hitting on all cylinders; looks reddish, has nice fruit notes, is quite malty, fine mouth feel and has satisfactory, but not assertive hop bitterness. There is a touch of astringent fruit character at the end of the taste like the inside of an apple peel. One of the best reds I've had in a while. I'm a fan.
