Brewed with Pilsner and Special Malt, this Belgian style ale has a nice combination of spice and dark fruit, with a soft malt character. Named after the Catholic Church that once graced State Street, this beer has a higher alcohol content and is sneaky smooth.

10oz pour into a goblet at the brewpub this afternoon.

Looks pretty inviting, ever so slightly hazy reddish amber body with a very nice off white head whch retains in some form throughout, leaving some attractive lacing.

Aroma of dark fruit, mostly cherry.

Upon tasting, the warmth of the abv is felt, but not overly so, so sipper beware. The dark fruit is the main flavor, with a strong sweet malty background. Could not find any spiciness, but a nice drink anyway.

Mouth a little above medium. finish a warm mildly dark cherry.

Overall, the best of 3 decent beers this afternoon.
