Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 12/7/23.
Appearance: murky darkish-orange hue with a thin layer of ivory foam that subsided pretty quickly.
Smell: sweet aroma with a bit of a syrupiness and a kind of citrusy, but musty, hop aroma. It’s okay; not too bad for GF.
Taste: the “malt” flavors are a little bit toasty and a little bit grainy, but also quite sweet. LIke in the aroma, the hops have kind of a musty, earthy flavor, as well as having a bit of citrus character. Bitterness seems relatively high.
Mouthfeel: meidum body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: the musty, over-bitter hops don’t quite work for me. I don’t know if that’s a failure of the grains to balance things out, or just not a great hop forumlation. Not the worst GF beer I’ve had by any means, but I think there is better out there.
