Appearance is clear burnt amber to reddish brown with a short off-white blanket settling to a thin film leaving droopy lacing.
Hot and fusel, this is almost like straight liquor with very little character, at all, let alone of the malt or barley variety. Seems quite odd for a barleywine to be void of malt flavor, but here it is.
The body is slick, fluid and light, sort of exacerbating the booze, bringing a little berry flavor as it warms. I can't nurse this one for very long without dumping it out, though.
