A: Pours a clear but dark almost opaque mahogany in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate chestnut brown + garnet red + ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a small patch of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of toasted + roasted + caramel + grainy malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness and a hint of nutty malts. Very light aromas of earthy hops with a hint if brininess.

T: Upfront there are slightly heavier than moderate flavors of toasted + roasted + caramel + grainy malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of nutty malts with a hint of brininess. Finally there is a very light flavor of earthy hops which impart a very light amount of bitterness which does not linger and the beer finishes relatively cleanly.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a low ABV with a smooth mouthfeel making this beer quite sessionable. I wish for a touch less carbonation in this one to truly remind me of the pub beers I was drinking on numerous trips to London and the Midlands. Nice malty flavors and aromas with enough complexity and just enough hops to balance it out and keep it from being sweet.
