Appearance: Slightly cloudy straw-yellow color with a generous-sized foamy white head that slowly faded. like the other Pilot series IPAs, A nice looking beer.
Smell: Moderate tropical fruit aromas and pine aromas. A nice nose.
Taste: I get moderate pine notes, mild fruit notes, and bitter hop notes. The hop profile bitterness hits first followed by the pine notes and then some mild fruit notes. The upfront hop bitterness is old school, far away from an NE haze bro IPA, which nicely counters the faint N/A malt sweetness. The hop bitterness in the finish results in a dry crisp finish.
Mouth-feel: The body is on the light side of medium-bodied with a generous level of carbonation. Nothing to change here.
Overall: While the nose has some nice fruitiness to it the hop profile comes off as an old school IPA. I prefer a fruitier hop profile but as an N/A beer I enjoyed this one. The hops in the Athletic Brewing Pilot series pop like their alcoholic counterparts.
