A: hazy; medium gold in color; 1 finger finely pored white head that receded to a wispy cap; nice lacing;
S: pineapple and grapefruit;
T: grapefruit and pine from start to finish; mild bitterness at the end;
M light bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: 3 significant flaws: the thinness of the body detracts from what might otherwise resemble a WCIPA; the bitterness is not present the way it should be for this style; WCIPAs are clear, not hazy; overall, it's OK;

12 oz can, dated 12/6/24
Pours a slightly cloudy yellow golden color, with foamy white head. Aroma of citrus rind and floral hops. Similar start to the taste, with some bitterness on the back end. Thin bodied.

I find this just as tasty as an IPA with alcohol. Very flavorful.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a small white head. Smells of citrus and piney hops. Tastes of citrus and earthy hops. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a superb NA beer.

Very good take on the style, albeit upfront visually it's a touch cloudy and lending itself to a smidge more haze than anticipated for a westy. Once it perfumes and opens, that becomes negligible. I've had a few really good NA IPAs lately and would suggest folks focus on the IPAs first before looking into other styles. This is well done and deserves at least a 4. Nice beer. No genuine critiques besides that it visually is sort of down the middle, looks a lot like a vermont ipa.

Poured from a can. This is a new favorite in the Athletic Brewing lineup. A solid version of a west coast hazy in NA form. Will drink again.

Hazy, but slightly see through yellow god body, a centimeter of white foamy head with medium lacing. A little of the worty-sweetness on the nose that you might find on a lot of NA beers... but most of the aroma pineapple mango grapefruit and then that breadiness again. Taste is much of the same, the bitterness is citrus and pine forward, with just a bit of sweet malt towards the end, but finishes on the floral side.

Had this near Pittsburgh, PA from a 12oz can
A - Hazy straw with a 1-finger white head and light lace
S - Fresh pineapple, touch of pine and light sorghum
T - Pineapple is apparent but subdued and there is a generic citrus flavor. There's more pine than in the aroma. Mild house malt flavor. There's moderate bitterness in the finish but more like a Pale Ale.
M - Light body and medium carbonation. Finishes dry. Refreshing.
O - Enjoyed this

Appearance: Slightly cloudy straw-yellow color with a medium-sized white head that gradually faded. A nice looking beer.
Smell: Moderate pine aromas and faint fruit aromas. A good nose on this one.
Taste: True to West Coast IPA form I mostly get moderate pine notes, the tiniest hint of citrus fruit notes ending with some bitter hop notes. The hop bitterness is very prominent along with moderate pine notes. The upfront hop bitterness does a good job covering the mild N/A malt sweetness. The beer has a fairly dry finish.
Mouth-feel: The beer has a fairly light body with a moderate level of carbonation.
Overall: A nice N/A take on a West Coast style IPA. I'm happy I picked up a few.

Rating this vs. other NA beers. This is described as a west coast IPA. Canned on date of 8/26/21. Chilled and consumed from a short, squatty version of a SamAdams Perfect Pint glass. Pours a less-than perfectly clear light lemon yellow; just a little a bit of haze present. Definite smell of hops and grass coming off the glass as poured. Loose, 1/2 finger of white foam that is short lived and leaves no lacing. Taste is definitely reminiscent of a WC IPA with bold bitterness. Mostly grassy/some faint vegetal overtones rather than anything fruity. Mouthfeel is average/medium body for a NA and on the light side for a WC IPA (not unexpected). Overall I think this is a good attempt to replicate a decent WC IPA in the NA format
