Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 11/9/21; label says this is part of their Pilot Program.
Appearance: rich amber hue with a dash of haze and a finger of quite-frothy ivory foam atop. Lookin' pretty good!
Smell: rather biscuity malt with a vegetal hop character; it definitely has an English pale ale kind of a vibe going on. Not too bad.
Taste: a bit hoppy up front with a little tiny bit of citrus character and rather caramelly, biscuity malt. There's a moderate bitterness and the finish is surprisingly dry. A pretty convincing pale or bitter, actually.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess. As always, Athletic nails this.
Overall: maybe not my favorite of Athletic's offerings, but if you are a big bitter/ESB/English pale drinker, then this is really going to work for you.

Another great offering. Mimics a kind of blend between English Pale ale and hoppy american red ale. It's sort of in the middle, sort of dependent on serving temp. As it warmed, hop character led the way, piney/resinous bitter notes, medium bodied, swathe of clean, soft malt in the middle. Really enjoyable beer and certainly one of the best NAs I've had. A beer I would drink ahead of a lot of leaded beer out there.
