Appearance - Dark Brown with a generous sized beige head. Looks the part of a Porter/Stout.
Smell -Smells of moderate piney hop aromas and some mild coffee aromas. A pretty good nose but the aromas are not upfront.
Taste - Moderate roast malt notes, moderate pine hop notes finishing with some bitter hop notes. interesting that this beer has more of a roasted malt presence than Athletic's All Out Stout. The combination of the roast malts and hops result having no N/A wortiness detected on my part.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied with a generous carbonation level.
Overall - A good Black IPA regardless of alcohol content and honestly a better stout than the beer Athletic marketed as an N/A stout. One of the better N/A beers I've had regardless of style.
