This tropical IPA coined its name due to the overwhelming tropical dance explosion its aroma evokes! Zamba Mamba has a basic malt backbone that lets the hops take center stage. Notes of citrus, white grape and green melon erupt from the glass.

From the Athletic's website: This special blend comes just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the San Diego Brewers Guild. Our friends at the Brewers Supply Group worked with the local guild to create two proprietary hop blends just in time for a special day! As a part of being a guild member, our brew team had the opportunity to vote for a name. We’re excited to share Zamba Mamba which uses Zamba Hops. Looks a little odd. Real pale straw color with gigantic bubbles zipping up the sides of the glass. Bony white head fizzles out pretty much on arrival, leaving only a spotty ring. Smells... ugh! I just can't avoid this dehydrated onion note! Is everyone using old hops? Moldy hops? Like what the fuck is going on? It's gross and it's putting me off of IPAs in general. I can't tell if there's anything beyond that because I'm too disgusted. Tastes better than it smells, but that's a low bar to clear. That onion note is still there (along with some bitter bite) but there is some balancing sweetness. And maybe some mild melon notes, though it's a bit hard to track. Light of body, but that wouldn't really bother me if it smelled and tasted better. Kind of a mess overall; not good.
