From Athletic's website: A toast to the west coast! Hometown Harvest is a malt forward IPA featuring California’s Admiral Malts, along with Mecca Grade Estate Malts and local hops from Crosby Hops in Oregon. This clear dark amber brew features lightly sweet and moderately bitter notes. You’ll appreciate the combination of grain, earthy, and floral aromas. Celebrate a west coast autumn and relish this brew throughout the season.
From me: Pours a nice coppery red with a finger or so of head. Decent retention & lacing. Smells... like Athletic's house hop is an onion-forward hop. Yeah. Freeze-dried scallions shot through a vaporizer. It's really all I get. Yeah; you taste it too. Its reasonably well-balanced with malty sweetness, but it's there as the only hop note. Finishes with a sharp bitterness. Not good; at least not for my palette.
