From Athletic's website: What’s more reminiscent of a California autumn than a West Coast Wheat IPA? This copper colored brew is bright and sunny with slightly sweet and mildly bitter notes. Enjoy a refreshing sip with pine, citrus and tropical aromas alongside a clean and crisp finish. Forest Explorer makes the perfect companion on a hiking adventure. What are you waiting for?
Mildly hazy light copper body with a baby finger's worth of bony white foam. Not much head retention. Decent lacing, though, all things considered. It does smell a bit like a wheat IPA up front but then that far too familiar Athletic Brewing onion-y hop aroma comes creeping in to ruin my evening. Fucking Hell. Whatever hop is causing that smell, just please stop using it already. Tastes... I mean, who knows? It's over the moment that onion scent hits your nostrils. I can't with this shit. No more IPAs from Athletic for me.
