An imperial stout’s brother from another mother. This big porter is brewed with lager yeast instead of ale yeast. Lending a cleaner less fruity taste.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. the can is date stamped 12/17/2021.
Picked up the beer in Pennsylvania around July 4th. Been in my cellar since I brought it home to Connecticut.
the beer pours a rich cola brown with a large fluffy beige head of 3.5 cm, the last of the beer actually gets the foam to overtop the edge of my glass, but it doesnt spill outside the glass. really good sticky lattice on the swirls and after each sip. the lattic is dense and sticks on the glass long after I take a sip.
Aroma is mostly some roasted malts, dry roast coffee grounds, and and faint hints of dark fruit, but generally pretty mild nose.
The first sip reveals a medium body with smooth slightly crisp texture and gentle rolling carbonation. the beer drinks very easy and fast even for a 9.5% brew.
Flavor is mostly roasted malt notes and some bitter coffee grounds. I also get a bit of dark fruit and no hop profile. THe ABV is hidden and the finish lingers a long roasted note.
This is a decent beer, I could use more of the dark fruit notes which are mild. I think the beer feels nice and drinks easy. Glad to have tried this one, but its not my favorite baltic porter.

16 oz. can. The foam was off-white 1.5" and lingered. The body was dark, almost sable. Flavor was subtle hops and dark roasted, slightly cocoa malt. This is a deliciously malty baltic porter.
