i thought this was a pretty solid hefeweizen, a true example of the style, with the exception of the mouthfeel, which is a little light and runny, not as puffy and fluffy from the wheat as i usually like in the style, and not creamy or round feeling, just kind of thin. aside from that, its really nice, clean estery german ale yeast, green banana and clove and allspice, but not over done there, still light and bright and summery. the wheat is fresh and simple, clean and easy, not much to it, but with a good base flavor for the yeast. i dont get much hops, but i start to get more nuance from it as it warms up a little bit, including some white pepper and pastry, croissant or something lightly baked. its not the most compelling hefe in the world, but it doesnt need to be, i think it fills a needed niche in the market up here, and they should package it if they arent already (i think they are draft only right now). this is a nice warm weather drinker, and we can never have too many of those!
