Visited in a Tuesday evening. Sat at the bar. Not crowded. Lovely night.
V - southwestern sports bar motif. Tourists and locals. Clean and bright with background music (reggae when I was there). Yes up some stairs. Not hard to find. Nice view of the street below if you can find a spot in their very small balcony.
Sel - Limited.
Ser - Nice service at the bar. Attentive and helpful.
Q - I had the octoberfest and the Dr. Strangehop IPA. - not impressed.

interesting space in the santa fe downtown, a great hang. im not totally sure they brew here, a little research shows its part of the boese brothers business, but if that means the beers are made elsewhere or what i am not sure, i did not see equipment here but its a weird space with a bunch of interconnected buildings and businesses it seems, so there easily could have been a brew house close by, i just didnt observe that, it could also be made in albuquerque, but i dont know, ill trust the listing that this is in fact a brewery and not some satellite or shadow operation. the space is funky, up a bunch of stairs but worth the effort, even with a stroller which was a two person job to get both up and down to the taproom. a stage for live music when you walk in, but none was happening when we were there, a cool bar in the back, billiards, nice views of the downtown area, neat art, hip space for sure with good energy. a modest beer list in terms of options, but they had a nice mix anyway, i enjoyed a rather robust porter as well as an ipa that was juicy and fairly modern, nothing out of this world, but objectively solid liquid, undeniably. the service was prompt from just a walk up bar model, friendly and all, but she didnt quite clear up my question about where the liquid is actually produced. good mix of folks in here too, locals and tourists, old and young, it felt welcoming and casual as can be, probably a great place to catch a little live music and guzzle a few worthwhile pints. worth a stop if your travels take you by...

Not to my liking- hard to find, lots of walking, stair climbing involved, to much hassle to try an unproven beer. Having said that the IPA I tried wasn't too bad. They could have turn the music down and played relatively ok stuff instead of what was blaring, maybe I'm just getting old.
