This brewer usually makes pretty good beers, cider and kombucha...let's try this. Contains wheat, barley and rye...and sabro hops.
Pina colada aroma from the bottle. Amazing artwork. Aroma in the glass is a little malt heavy, which isn't surprising with the added rye and wheat. And lots of juice and a little coconut. Amber colour.
Taste and mouth feel totally remind me of other Forever brews...it's heavy on the malt flavours, rye being particularly prominent. And this contrasts a little strangely with the tropical fruits and coconut from the hops. I would much prefer a light barley malt, it would allow these hops to shine instead of intruding. Heavy mouth feel when it needs to be light and tropical.
Volynski/Mikki obviously know how to make quality cider and kombucha, but I think they are trying a bit too hard with their beers and they really need to not mix heavy malts with tropical hops...it does not work and makes the final result self-implode. There are so many interesting flavours happening here but they do not work together at all.
