a very unique and delicious blended wild ale here, sort of a funky biere de garde type, a little maltier, rust colored, frothy headed, subtle in all the right ways, expertly refined, sure its expensive at 19 bucks a bottle, but man, im glad i picked this up, it was the highlight of my beer weekend to be sure. the color is rich, the carbonation is high, the aroma is farmy and distinctive, lots of bretty funk, mature and woody, musty, mineral forward, hay and straw, dark toast and caramel, slight herbal bitterness, vinous, just very interesting and appealing, without any real sour character. the flavor has a ton going on too, the honey conditioning does something for the taste as well as this incredible texture, soft floral sweetness adjacent the malt through the whole thing, earthy and grounding, subtle but present for sure. the brett has a very rustic complexion in here, patiently allowed to develop, wrapped in oak, slight iodine and paper and natural white wine. fuller bodied but bone dry for how grain forward it is, not to mention the honey, and the effervescence is incredible. this is sure to cellar really well, but its incredible right now too, already very mature, i think this was the first batch from 2018 (if i remember reading the label right), cool of them to house it that long to let it evolve, it shows. i am loving garden path beers and am glad to see them popping up in idaho a little more frequently now, this is super impressive and worth the high price. neat for the autumn too, this makes perfect seasonal sense right now.

Served in nonic. Poured a lightly hazy light straw color with an inch of white head that had very good retention, but light lacing. The aroma was gentle grains, and very good funk. Same on the tongue, just toned down a bit. The body was on the thin side of medium, and had a very dry finish. Drinkability was excellent, the beer stayed interesting throughout the glass. Overall, an excellent beer. A must try if you see it.
