500ml bottle into a pint glass. Bottled 6/4/20, so 13 months old.
Paraphrasing from the bottle:- blend of a pale ale with maple smoked barley, and a foudre aged golden ale with oak smoked barley, then bottle conditioned with honey.
Looks pretty good in the glass. Hazy dull dark yellow body. Small white head disappears quite quickly, no lacing.
Funky, smoky aroma.
On tasting, it seems that the smoke and funk elements intermingle into one flavor. It is quite dry. Although brewed with honey, I cant find and sweetness here.
Mouth medium, finish a smokey funk, then dryness.
Overall, not my cup of tea, funk fans may enjoy it more. Tavour calls it a smoked beer, and the brewer seems to emphasize that element. Untapped has it as a Lichtenhainer.
