a special edition of this, coolship inoculated instead of being done with their house mixed culture or however they make the original, and this is definitely a little different, more funky, more bretty, less tart in the taste, and even though its not super mature, its pretty complex, really neat little table beer type, i cant get enough from garden path right now, so glad to have it available in idaho! nice and pale and simple on the grain side it seems, just like the original version of this, frothy white head from the bottle, looks nice. the nose shows some of the honey, seems like wildflower to me, definite blooming character and just a hint of that organic sweetness to it on top of dry cereal malt and a little woody white wine, but this really is about the fermentation, both in aroma and flavor, definitely wild, a little more bretty and farmy than the original, perhaps less tangy too, but that one wasnt real sour either, this just seems hardly bacterial at all. some rawness to the grain, some dried herbal character, definite honey, white peach, clean lemon, and barnyard weirdness. and bone dry. i love how complex this can be but also how low alcohol, i could drink this forever, borderline desert island beer. nice carbonation, very lively, and cool lightly spice esters as it warms. as good if not even a little more intriguing than the original. fantastic!
