Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a deep mahogany-ruby red color with a one finger head of puffy tan foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time and leaving a good deal of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of dark fruits of cherry and plum, along with some raisin and fig. Along with these smells comes nice notes of candied sugar and molasses, as well as some yeast and biscuit malt. At the same time there is a bit of spice as well, with notes of pepper and clove, along with a bit of a perfumey like smell. Rather nice.
Taste – The taste starts with a lightly toasted biscuit malt flavor paired with many of the dark fruits and candied sugar that were in the nose. The dark fruits are heaviest of a fig and prune flavor, mixed with a decent showing of cherry and raisin, along with some lighter notes of raspberries and blackberries. There is also a little bit of yeast and spice upfront, with the spice being mainly of a clove and a bit of coriander. As the taste advances, a note of licorice and some more sweetness enter the tongue, all while the roastiness fades a tad. A touch of alcohol and some light wood join in at the end, leaving one with a nice, slightly sweeter, but very approachable dark fruited quad taste to linger.
Mouthfeel – The body is middle of the road in creaminess and thickness with a more moderate carbonation level.
Overall – A rather well crafted and approachable quad. A touch on the sweeter side, but very good none the less.

No can date
Pours a very large frothy pillow eventually rocky tan 2+ finger head with moderate retention, fair sticky lacing, dark mahogany dark leather brown color
Nose is nice, initially some holiday spices, into that heavy dark fruits, candied fig/date, prune, chocolate covered raisins, light perfumey alcohol but smooth, hint of phenol spices, sweet brown sugar molasses and a little caramelized candi sugar, soft toasted brown malt
Taste the sweetened fruits up front, candied sweet fig date, prune, a hint of tobacco like earthy character (in a good way), more mild holiday spices and phenol notes, with a touch of smooth perfumey alcohol again, rich brown malts, toasted nuts, sweet bread crust topped with molasses, a bit of burnt honey and candi sugar, background biscuity cookie like notes, surprisingly drier finish but a touch sticky, a bit more warming alcohol and some bitter spice
Mouth is fuller bod, a touch syrupy, thick, carb on the higher side bordering effervescent, touch of warming alcohol
Overall pretty nice, a bit more of the rich brown malts than usual for a Quad but still has all the nice phenols, esters, and mild alcohol, so pretty good overall

An excellent Belgian Quad, with good balance and smoothness.
