Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a lighter level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a caramel and crème smell mixed with notes of bread and some dough. Along with these smells comes notes of vanilla and a touch of hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a smooth grainy doughy flavor mixed with some caramel and crème as was in the nose. The sweet however, is lighter then would be anticipated from the smell, only adding a more subtle backdrop flavor. Other flavors of hay and cereal are there as well, with these getting stronger as the taste advances. At the same time the sweet fades even more, while a light earthiness and more vanilla join in, taking the taste to its end and leaving one with a crisp and clean taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a more moderate carbonation level.
Overall – A rather nice and more crisp crème ale. Well done and one to try if you get a chance.
