L- Pale chestnut, cloudy, pours with 1Cm off-white head.
S- It has something of a deep/fruit-pie smell to it, perhaps apple is closest to the aroma.
T- It's quite spicy on the front, into a meaty and medium-rich middle. I'm glad I served this well chilled as it could become over-rich (ie > sweet, for me) if it warms. I'm still getting a stewed-fruits/pie taste from it, that aspect is good. I don't register any negative flavour facets.
F- The feel is quite 'trad rustic farmhouse'. I can imagine having a couple of these with dinner in winter.
O- This has some heft to it's presence, though maybe not as much as it's 7.3% ABV suggests. It's very nice, I'd happily drink it again.
440ml, adhesive lable on bare can 'typical hipster format'. BB: 29/11/19. Bought by a friend on the Brighton seafront this week.
p.s. The ingredients list is lengthy, something I don't often wish for. In this case: 6 kinds of malts (!), A blend of yeasts, three kinds of hops, and 'Specialities: rum barrels, dark Belgian Candi Sugar (adjunct!?), Raisons and Vanilla'. - Shame they had to use 'Candi sugar', that really debases and cheapens the whole for me...
