i think its awesome how rapidly craft beer seems to be proliferating in brazil, there seem to be new breweries opening there all the time, i wish i had a steady pipeline to more of this stuff, but its always fun to try a few. the label on this bottle says golden ale, but it is more of an english pale than an american blonde, a confusing and misleading name for the beer for sure, but its a solid brew either way. a malty rust color in the glass, perfectly clear, too dark to be a classic golden ale, but with a nice white head on it and good retention too. it smells a little nutty and biscuity, even some maris otter or other english crystal, at this point i give up on the golden ale notion and focus on a nice fresh and flavorful ale, with an english yeast complexion, noble type bittering hops, and a note of honey in the middle of the grains, but this is drier to finish, just a long slow flavor journey, not overly complex but well proportioned and very drinkable for being predominantly grain driven. toasted bread, almond, toffee, pizza dough, and black tea all come to mind at the same time in the finish, and then its gone. nice carbonation and balanced medium body. drinkable and tasty beer, not what it says it is, but i dont mind that much. i could drink beer like this all day.
