This beer is an Ale, but drinks like the Lager. Crisp and refreshing.

Had on tap at the brewery pub. Looked nice, creamy head with a bit of a copper hue. Clean smelling malts with good bready aromas and a sniff of hopping as well.

Taste was pretty solid, perhaps a tad on the thin side, but made for excellent drinkability. Went down nicely outside on a January day, sitting around the campfires they have outside the brewery. Not bad.

A very refreshing beer. Easy drinking, nice and smooth and a light malt flavour. I can see why this is their best seller, easy drinker.

8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square. This is called both a Vienna Ale and a Vienna Lager elsewhere online, so I dunno.

This beer appears a clear, medium bronzed amber colour, with a thin cap of wispy and weakly bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of streaky and filmy lace around the glass as things slowly sink away.

It smells of semi-sweet, bready and grainy caramel malt, bruised apples and pears, a hint of damp smoke, and rather tame earthy, musty, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, a bit of phenolic yeastiness, mixed pome fruity notes, and more understated earthy, musty, and dead floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is pretty stagnant in its bland frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing really causing any sort of trouble at this point in the game. It finishes off-dry, the malt and apple characters still running the lingering show.

Overall - this comes across as a fairly amateur hour rendition of this venerable old-world style, way too sweet and not biscuity in the least. I am honestly getting bored as I drink this - sort of how I felt about Black Diamond when I was growing up in Okotoks all those years ago.
