355ml can - subtitled the 'November Edition', with three different peel-off mustaches on the front label, and one dollar from each six-pack sold going to Calgary's Prostate Cancer Center. That's a gimmick that I can get behind.

This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber colour, with four fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly tan head, which leaves some decent layered and frilly lace around the glass as it slowly sinks out of sight.

It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, some muddled domestic citrus peel, a hint of earthy spiciness, and some plain leafy, weedy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, a lesser biscuity toffee sweetness, fading orange and red grapefruit citrus rind, more indistinct estery spice, and some herbal, floral, and piney hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-satisfying frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and mostly smooth, with that spicy character taking a minor tithe at this particular juncture. It finishes trending dry, the hops and spices kind of sparring in the lingering arena.

Overall - this one is a bit of an odd bird, but in a good way. They've blended the harvest hops and seasonal spice essences well, so that we get a Pale Ale meets Winter Warmer sort of experience. And I'm going to save the mustaches for my kid, he'll get a kick out of them!
