500 ml bottle that was bottled early 2021 and released late December 2021.
A: pours rusty orange, amber color with 1/2 finger head that dissipates relatively quickly.
S: sour with a trace of sweetness; reminiscent of tart raspberries; faint red wine
T: pretty abrasive tartness on first sip that puckers the side of your tongue and gets the saliva jets going; mid sip brings taste of tart red berries mixed with brightness of sweet red fruit juice; some hints of red wine and tannins; on the finish there’s a distinct maple flavor that would be very perplexing if you didn’t know there was maple in the foudre when it was aged.
F: nice mouthfeel that is on more complex end of spectrum for wild ales; nice spritzy feel that is combination of carb and raspiness from the sourness, on top of body that isn’t light; this beer lingers after each sip
O: winner me! I love the complexity and little surprises this beer brings.
