The Russian Imperial Stout was first brewed in England for Emperor Peter the Great of Russia. This beer is full bodied, rich, and complex with flavors and aromas of dried fruit, coffee, and dark chocolate.

Crowler into pint glass. Pours a dark brown with a thin, fizzy head. Initial impression is milk chocolate, light coffee, and roasted malts. Mouthfeel is decidedly thin for a RIS. Carbonation is medium - much less than I would have expected from the pour. Alcohol is pretty well hidden, although there is a touch of warming on the finish. Not my favorite RIS by a long stretch, but enjoyable nonetheless.
