Garage Band Brewing

Just a quick fifteen minute walk and a pet on a little pittie (no sweating the claws, my little chicken's talons are much more damaging, just don't tell her I was cheating on her) brought me to Garage Band, right in the heart of downtown Plainfield, attached to a different barbecue joint. I passed the patio area and into the cooler interior, 'cause I'm goddmamn vampiric and a touch sweaty from the sunshine during the walk. It's mostly open, various tables up front and the bar in the back. It's a nice, cool black slate style of bar, welcoming to my heated skin, and the seats are some of the most comfortably padded I've encountered in long damn time (why is it that they make barstools and other bar seating so goddamn uncomfortable!?). A few screens allowed me to catch a college baseball game, and the décor leans on the rock music motif. The selection is on the smaller side (shall we call it tightly-curated?), with some hops, a kolsch, and a couple stouts; but you're likely able to find something to sate your tick hunger. The beers are solid, if nothing particularly eye-opening, and, as at Werk Force, crowlers are available (so many places phased this out after COVID was declared all-clear, the jerks). The staff are rather nice and helpful, and I even witnessed one receive some Mothers' Day flowers from her man, a testament to how people feel about each other here (a slight cosmic reach, but not wholly wrong, I'd say). I didn't notice any food beyond some packaged snacks, so nothing to report there (as if I would have, anyway). Overall, a nice follow-up to WF, and another reason to revisit again sooner rather than later.

Tucked in downtown Plainfield IL., this brewer had a smaller taproom but nice outdoor area in front, hard rock music on but not loud. Clean and tidy place, we like the beers we had. I wish the beer menu was not phone app only. Look at website to see whats on tap if you don't have the app. parking is slightly tight. Staff were nice.
