Ten7 Brewing Co. "Three Hops This Time"
16 fl. oz. can coded "CHA CHA Y'ALL 01/26/22". Sampled on 10/01/22
$5 @ Kunda Beverage, King of Prussia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: This beer is old! I hadn't seen this beer at Kunda Bev before so I just assumed it was fresh. You know what they say about assuming though, right? Well I'm hoping for the best. So what is it? It's a hazy IPA at 7.1% ABV with Citra, Vic Secret, and Galaxy hops. You kinda can't go wrong with that, right? Galaxy is the most popular hop from Australia for a reason, and it seems like Citra might be the most popular hop from the U.S. but who knows, not me. It's poured a hazy golden body beneath a full head of bright white foam. In the nose it's herbal, piney, "dank", floral, and fruity with notes of citrus, peach, pineapple, and passionfruit. It's bright and lively! On to the taste then... well, in all honesty it tastes pretty much exactly as it smells. I'm getting everything I found in the aroma, and in the same order. There's a little bit of additional fruitiness that's like apple, apricot, and a hint of plum. It's also a little woody and spicy, and I'm thinking specifically of cedar. It's a nice combination that's a little bit different as a lot of hazy IPAs go more for the fruitiness. The malt is sweetish, grainy, bready, wheaty, and oat-like. A moderate bitterness balances it but it still finishes on the dry side with the spiciness, woodines, and herbal character helping to dry it. It's a little minty. In the mouth it's medium on the higher side and creamy smooth due to all of the extra proteins and a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation. The final thing to note is that the head retention is excellent and I still have a creamy and fairly thick cap of foam. The lacing that wraps around the glass is also fairly thick. I don't find any oxidation here, and I'm really surprised that it's held up so well, and with such strong hop character after nine months. I wonder what it was like fresh!

Another very tasty ipa from Ten 7. Enjoyed from a can, packaged about a month ago. A really nice blend of my three favorite hops!
