Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is solid black, head is tan with fine bubbles, head presents 1/4 inch thick and dissipates to thin top with some lacing.
Smell is light roast, chocolate, some grassy, floral, and herbal hops, pleasant and enticing.
Taste is more emphatic - roast, chocolate, light caramel, grass, herbal, floral hops, lingering bitterness and light sweetness.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness, true to style.
Overall a very, very good black IPA - roast, light chocolate, some caramel, and balanced hop flavor.

Very dark brown in color, almost black. Tan colored head, good head retention. Aroma is a mix of piney earthy hops and mild roast. Similar taste, with a bitter finish. Medium bodied.
