Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is dark amber, head is light tan with amber hue, head presents 1.5 fingers thick.

Smell is clean and not overdone with rye earthiness and notable caramel malt but overly sweet, lighter earthy and herbal hops.

Taste is more moderate malt with caramel, toast, light nuttiness, dry and earthy rye with hints of spice, herbal, and earthy hops; very flavorful and malty but not overdone.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness with a smoothed finish that i've noticed in some rye beers.

Overall an excellent red rye ale with moderate hop character - not quite IPA level bitterness or hop flavor but a well hoped rye ale.
